- The marriage is dissolved which means that the husband and the wife are now single people again.
- It also means that any gifts in the Will of either one of the spouses to the other is, no longer applicable. That is, unless a contrary intention appears within the Will itself.
- Both parties are now free to remarry.
- Neither party is entitled to receive a spouse’s pension in the event of the death of the other spouse.
